I wonder what they mean...

I tell her the dress is ill-fitting and makes her look fat!
They tell me it's rude to point out things.
I wonder what they meant.
I tell him not to lick-arse.
They tell me a lil' obsequiousness goes a long way.
I wonder what they meant.
I tell them I do not like what they got me for my big day.
They tell me I shouldn't be such a faultfinder and say thank you even if I don't.
I wonder what they meant.
I tell my nanny that I love her.
They ask me not to be such an ingratiating prig.
I wonder what they meant.
I talk to penury-stricken boys begging on the inconsiderate streets.
They tell me I am weird.
I wonder what they meant.
I tell my father that I don't like his female colleague.
He asks not to be my usual big-mouth in front of mother.
I wonder what he meant.
I tell my brother I don't like the smell of his white powder.
He tells me it helps him regain his sang-froid.
I wonder what he meant.
I stare back unblinkingly at an uncle ogling at me.
They tell me I shouldn't look such people in the eye.
I wonder what they meant.
I wear a Tee that says "I lost my teddy bear, will you sleep with me tonight?".
They slap me hard and tell me it's obscene.
I wonder what they meant.
I tell his girlfriend that the back of her skirt's red.
She tells me she's on her cycle.
I wonder what she meant.
I tell them I love life.
They tell me it's easier said than done.
I wonder what they meant.
I ask them if it hurts to die.
They tell me pain's a part of life.
I wonder what they meant.

I don't know what they meant, either... but I know they'd keep on telling you their 'how to's till the end of time.
I do know that on the virtue of coming to this earth before you did, they believe that they are above explaining things to you.
Telling from experience... this loop never ends :)

I know!I just thought of sharing it because it's so annoying when their so called dos and don'ts interfere, too much at that, nibbling at your neurons. You just can't think straight and they've got an eternal smug painted on their wretched faces donning the look 'I've been there and done that'.It's plain simple annoying! They clearly don't know everything there's to know so they should leave us to us!

And it does end, with the final parting.

*It does end when you stop bothering about it!

*Opinions are always welcome, until they begin bugging!

*Well lots of it comes from the sheer thought of trying to establish a civilized society, instead our inability to judge the gravity ends up making us civilized slaves.

Everyone is a slave to the society. The one who realizes his worth as an individual perishes. All you have to do is believe in yourself and your beliefs.
It ends when you start believing in yourself and when you start considering yourself as not as a part of the society but as an entity. That's where actual freedom starts and your heaven is in your hand to mould in any fucking way possible.

Yeah.I agree,so totally.
When we are past the stage of undermining ourselves,we actually tend to grow as a person and outgrow the general beliefs that tend to hold us down!
